Bringing history closer

The Preservation Alliance’s mission is to promote the appreciation and protection of Philadelphia’s historic buildings, communities, and landscapes. The site captures the organization’s aesthetic using a muted jewel-tone palette and includes features like an interactive map where users can explore walking tour destinations and historic sites.

An extensive business partner directory lets users locate preservation professionals, practitioners and advocates; a resource section offers a preservation toolkit, with guidelines for property owners and community organizations.

The AAKOMA Project

Making mental health a priority

The AAKOMA Project’s mission is to support the mental health of Youth of Color through programs, counseling, and research. The site design is bright and appealing to its teen audience, with tools and videos crafted for that audience. It also provides resources for organizations seeking training, as well as ongoing research into the state of mental health in marginalized populations.

Penn Center for Innovation (PCI)

Penn’s hub for entrepreneurship and innovation

PCI is a one-stop-shop for technology commercialization and entrepreneurship at the University of Pennsylvania. PCI has a broad audience that fits into distinctive roles – faculty, students, entrepreneurs, and companies. To accommodate, we developed a homepage that helps users self-identify, leading them to relevant information. Key metrics appear throughout the site highlighting the organization’s achievements. Metrics can be updated manually or synced to internal reporting platforms.

Clarifi

Financial resilience made simple

Clarifi is a Philadelphia nonprofit that provides financial empowerment to underserved communities through education and counseling. Maskar created a streamlined, minimalist design for their website refresh. Bold calls to action encourage users to schedule an appointment and begin the counseling process. The homepage features overlapping content areas that separate the messages into easy-to-digest sections. As the user scrolls, real-time statistics generate on the page, emphasizing Clarifi’s impact within the community.

Geometric elements throughout the site reference the company’s branding. These information sections lend themselves to efficient stacking, creating a consistent experience across all devices.

The site’s backend uses Gutenburg to deliver customized “blocks” for editing, letting Clarifi’s staff change existing pages or build new ones easily.

Spearheaded by a partnership of philanthropic organizations throughout the region, Vision Philadelphia explores promising solutions for improving quality of life for all Philadelphians. A series of position papers are available in print, as well as online, and cover topics on economic development, behavioral heath, gun violence, land use, and other key issues facing the city.
